Filing a notice of copyright infringement
Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, we will respond promptly to valid takedown notices. To file one, send a written notice to our designated agent that includes all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or someone authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed.
- The URL or other specific information sufficient to let us locate the allegedly infringing material.
- Your contact information: full name, mailing address, phone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
How to send a notice
File DMCA takedown notices and counter-notices through our contact form. It routes straight to the designated agent and gives you a tracked ticket number so you can follow up.
We process complete notices within 5 business days. Incomplete notices will be returned with a note describing what is missing.
Counter-notice
If you believe content you posted was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address. Your counter-notice must include the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), including your consent to jurisdiction in the federal court for the district where you live.
Repeat infringers
We will terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
Misrepresentation
Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages. Please make sure your claim is correct before filing.
